DEACONESS MINISTRY
"I beseech you therefore, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1
Mission Statement
The Deaconess Ministry is comprised of a consecrated group of women who serve as spiritual leaders and assist the pastor in other capacities as needed. There are two ordinances that we prepare for and participate in with reverence and dignity. The first is Baptism. We serve as water mother to all female candidates. These services are 3 times a year (Resurrection Sunday, summer and Christmas Eve). The second ordinance is communion the Deaconesses prepare and set the communion table we service each first Sunday of the months, Ash Wednesday service at 6:00 a.m., and the Communion of the Roses service. We accompany the Deacons to serve communion to the sick and shut-in, and with visitation to the nursing homes.
